How to get to Chamonix
Chamonix is probably the easiest European resort to get to from the UK. It is only just over an hour's drive from Geneva airport. Driving takes between 8 to 12 hours once you are off the ferry. It is also possible to get the train from London Waterloo (Eurostar) to Chamonix with just three changes and there is also a direct coach from Victoria.
The prices quoted for all Boardnlodge holidays do not include travel but once we confirm which week(s) your group are interested in we will help to choose and plan your most convenient method of transport to Chamonix and give you any help you need to make your journey as quick and stress free as possible. Plane: If you prefer to fly we can search our directory of flight suppliers to find the cheapest and most convenient flight for you. Just let us know your preferred week(s), how many of you there are and we will get back to you with a quote rightaway. Easyjet (www.easyjet.com) also fly direct to Geneva from various airports around the UK. If you choose to fly you will obviously need to get from Geneva to Chamonix. There are two choices; either an airport transfer, which you can book with us. We are not including airport transfers in either our Chalet or Self-Catered holidays. This is so as not to penalise guests who are travelling by car, train or coach and do not require transfers. It also allows guests who choose to fly, to have greater flexibility with their choice of flight, as they will no longer need to choose flights coinciding with our airport transfer trips. Please indicate that you require a transfer on the booking form. Hire A Car Alternatively you can hire a car which costs from £125 for the week. You can contact Hertz on 0990 966 699 or at www.hertz.co.uk to arrange this. Train: Trains depart from London Waterloo via Paris and St Gevais to Chamonix or Argentiere. This is NOT the same train as the Snowtrain. You will normally depart Waterloo on the Friday evening and arrive early Saturday morning. This means you can usually get at least an extra half-day on the mountain. The price is usually about £170.
